florida orchestra

Everyone needs to visit the Florida Orchestra website.  The orchestra has a Super Pops series and will be playing music by John Williams--ET; Raiders; Jaws.  The site is www.floridaorchestra.org.

With your student ID, your parent can purchase 2 tickets for $10 each if they go to the box office 1 hour before showtime.  The orchestra performs at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.  On the website, click Education then "ticket discounts".  There is an explanation and phone number for more information.  I have used my teacher ID to buy the $10 tickets and they really will give you the best available but make sure your parents do request the best available please.

Our School Masses

I am so proud of everyone who has contributed to the school masses on Thursday.  The choir has led the singing with their enthusiasm--thank you for trusting me and working with me at rehearsals.  The 7th grade litugical dancers produced some really creative choreographed moves.  6th graders were willing to do double duty either playing in band AND ringing handbells or playing double bells.  Some of you had to learn to read another note in the opposite clef. Sound crew, guitar players, drummers and percussion, powerpoint operators:  you contribute to the mass without any fuss.  As a teacher, I am very grateful for that.  I miss the 8th grade cantors already--there were many times  during the school year when I asked them at the very last minute to learn a new song or responsorial psalm.
